One Night In Bangkok - By Emirates First Class

Sun Aug 23, 2009 3:16 am

Hi, and welcome to my latest Trip Report,

Hong Kong to Bangkok and return by Emirates First Class

14 June 2009

Emirates #385

Hong Kong to Bangkok

For many years, Emirates has operated between Hong Kong and Bangkok. The late departure time has been very popular with both Hong Kong and Thai people to catch the ride after a full day of work/leisure. This heavily tourist route has usually been operated by a 2 class 450 seats B777-300 (A6-EMP/EMQ in particular) until last year Emirates have been sending the refurbished 3 class B777-300.

You just need to remove the "front.jpg" from the address, then press return again.

Hi Sam,

Awesome report of EK F! Thank you for sharing.

Shame on the inconsistency of their on board service. As far as I know, only Globetraveller had managed to receive a consistent high level of service on the most amount of successive flights. And that was in Y!

On the other side, I had never expected that their overseas lounge food offering could be such massive....and mouthwatering too.  yummy

Cheers,

Very nice trip report - thank you for that. It was a pleasure to read it...

Moreover, I'm happy to see pics from the Le Meridien Bangkok... stayed there 3 weeks in February - surely one of the best new hotels in Bangkok!

Hi Sam,

Thanks for posting.

Whilst the outbound flight was good, the return was poor.

My father had 3 F class flights on EK on the trot, all 3 were like your return, even one where he and his wife were the only passengers, he no longer fly's EK.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

I think the challenge with Emirates is that with many new and inexperienced crew joined onboard, it is a stuggle to maintain service level inconsistency, especially when the airline is expanding fast all the time. Different culture of the crew may also be a factor. Some particular nationalities crew tend to be more outgoing than others.

- Sam, all true, I've noticed the same when travelling on EY, some flights are great, others are bad.

Forgot to say, loved the Murry Head tune!  Smile

Was unaware that some of the 300ER's still had the old business class seating. Was lucky enough to have flown all four J legs of my return trip to Paris via DXB on EK on the A6-EC* 77W's. All had First class suites and the new business class product.

Nice report thanks for sharing.
