The beautiful island of Curaçao is part of the Netherlands Antilles and is known for its diverse culture, world-class diving, international trade, and colorful architecture. The island has over 750 UNESCO Heritage Sites and the economy is also driven by the shipping and refining industries. The Netherlands Antilles will dissolve on October 10, 2010 and Curaçao will become an autonomous unit within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The capital of the Netherlands Antilles is Willemstad. Willemstad is one of the most diverse cities in the Caribbean and the historic centre of the city consists of two quarters: Punda and Otrobanda.

In-flight service was excellent on this flight and the F/A's were truly fantastic. After take-off we were served the usual mixed nuts along with beverages:

On this flight we were offered a choice of either pasta or chicken. The chicken was quite tasty and the dessert was also very good:

We arrived into MIA 30 minutes early, luckily a gate was available for the a/c. Unfortunately, we were assigned gate D51, the last gate in Concourse D:

I always wanted to go to Curacao and Bonaire part of the ABC islands. Already went to Aruba. What hotel did you stay at? I heard the Marriott has a nice beach but rooms a bit old. They just built a new Hyatt but it is not on the beach. Thanks.

You will my friend.  Smile

CUR really isn't a beach destination. The beach at the Marriott is a bit rocky. There are a few secluded beaches that are very nice. I would recommend that you stay at the Kura Hulanda Spa and Casino. It's one of the most unique hotels I've ever visited. Also, visit curacao.com and you will find a plethora of information about the island.

Thanks 424. Hopefully you'll be able to fly there on BW soon. It really is a great island to visit.

Wonderful report. Thank you. Loved it.

One point - AA brands the F cabin on the 738 as "Business Class" when it goes international. Had never seen that before. Please love my AA, but their cabin branding is (imho) confusing sometimes.

Guess they are branding the two class 738 like the two class 763 -- Domestic trips - it is First and Economy. International trips - it is Business and Economy.

Nice report, AA seem to be maintaining the standards, though as stated above, calling this Business Class when it's First Class on a domestic sector is odd!

Did you not get shouted at by a FA for changing seats during taxi or did they not see you move?

Food looks ok, not keen on all that dressing on the salad though!

Regards

Mark

Thanks for the positive feedback. AA's First Class service on B738 operated domestic flights is the same as AA's Business Class on B738 operated international flights. For AA's domestic B738 operated flights, the service is marketed as First Class. However, for international flights, it's just marketed as Business Class.

Had an excellent crew as I usually do on American Airlines.
