LJU-MUC JP CRJ900
MUC-BCN LH A320
BCN-LJU JP A319
This is a trip report about a long weekend trip I took to Barcelona. Since the schedules between Ljubljana and Barcelona are not that great I had to fly via Munich on the outbound journey. But that was even better from my point of view And the biggest higlight of this trip was the flight on the brand new Airbus 319 on my return leg. Adria now has two A319 in its fleet, one was delivered in april and the other in may this year.
I have checked-in online but I was only able to check-in for the first leg, I would have to stop at the transfer center in Munich to pick up my boarding pass for the MUC-BCN leg.
There were separate lines for charter and regular flights. Charters to Greece were to the right and regular JP flights to the left if you enter the terminal through the main entrance.
Duty-free shop right after security.
Stairs leading to the first floor, from where non-schengen flights depart and for those schengen flights which are departing from a position with a finger.
To the right is passport control for non-schengen passengers.
There were four flights to Istanbul in less than an hour. The world cup in basketball is about to start and there are many supporters from Slovenia that decided to go and follow our team in Turkey. I think that more than 4.000 fans are in Istanbul right now.
Upper level from where Adria flights to Frankfurt and Brussels were departing at that time.
A320 going to Frankfurt.
Our gate number 9 at the ground floor.
Our aircraft will be S5-AAK, it will arrive from Istanbul with a 10 minutes delay and it will be parked at position 35. There are going to be 84 PAX on this flight (the driver of the bus in Munich had 82 PAX written on his computer screen). Adria CRJ900 has 86 seats.
Entrance to the business lounge.
List of airlines.
Boarding started with a slight delay.
On the crowded bus to the aircraft.
Letališče Jožeta Pučnika Ljubljana.
My very dirty window.
I had seat 17D.
Soon after takeoff from runway 31.
I don't think I can call this a meal, but for a 45 minute flight it was ok.
Safety card can be very useful.
After landing, lineup at Munich T2.
Come on people, we are all going to be on the same bus and the doors haven't even been opened yet.
Transfer center, where I had to pick up my boarding pass for the next leg to BCN with Lufthansa.
Departure screen. Our flight was scheduled to depart at 21:20.
Boarding started with a small delay.
I didn't get the registration…
Our neighbor, NH B777, going to NRT.
Cabin during boarding. There was an announcement made that the lights are now going to be turned off for taxi and takeoff.
An overview of Munich airport at night.
There were two choices – a cheese or meat sandwich (I borrowed one from my neighbor for this picture )
There was one drink service.
Two photos of our approach.
We parked next to a LH A321, probably from FRA.
I was immediately impressed by the BCN Terminal 1.
Great terminal, one of the best in Europe.
Both flights with JP and LH were OK, but the highlight of this trip was still to come
RETURN LEG BCN-LJU
We arrived at T1 more than three hours before our flight.
Check-in was still closed at that time, but it opened in a few minutes after our arrival.
Two groups of tourists returning to Ljubljana formed a long line.
There are a lot of shops at T1.
B gates. I walked all the way down.
There is a nice place at the end of the B gates, where you can watch landing and departing aircraft.
Some pictures – unfortunately there were no wide bodies at this time, there were two Iberia flights leaving to GRU and SCL in the evening.
BCN, MUC, CPH, CDG/2E are some of the nicest terminals in Europe in my opinion (and the new part of LJU of course)
A great open area at each end of the terminal to get some fresh air.
Boarding started with a 15 minutes delay.
Our aircraft arrived with a slight delay and parked at a remote position, I was happy about that.
Star Alliance partners.
Our bus waiting for us.
Boarding was called for passengers seated in rows 15 to the rear. I was seated in 21A so I made my way downstairs to the bus.
A short ride and we stopped in front of S5-AAR, Adria second A139, and the newest plane in its fleet.
At the top of the stairs.
Me and my friend were the last ones of the bus and we were taking a lot of pictures. When we arrived into the aircraft the cockpit doors were opened and the second bus was not here yet, so I asked the flight attendant if it would be possible to take a photo of the cockpit. She said that she will check with the captain and he agreed We thanked him and took some photos.
When I got to my seat there were a mother and daughter already seated in 21A and 21B. I said politely that I am seated in 21A and she asked me if I wouldn't like to seat in the aisle seat instead. Sorry, not today, I wouldn't change my seat for any other than the jump seat on this flight
There are no classic seat pockets on these aircraft.
There was a safety demonstration made first in Slovene and then in English, then a Spanish recording was played. First time I heard that on Adria
Cabin shot just before lights were turned off for takeoff.
A bad in-flight picture. The takeoff was so smooth and the aircraft is very quiet. There was absolutely no turbulence during the whole flight.
The only negative thing on this flight was the fact that the screens were not operating. I was really looking forward to the airshow
The crew on this flight was great! It was an all female crew and they were smiling all the time, they were very polite and paid attention to every passenger. They also distributed pillows before takeoff.
I was really enjoying this flight, one of my best flights with Adria. The aircraft looked great and the crew seemed very happy to be working on this flight. But it was over way to quickly as we started our descent over Trieste. We then followed the A1 motorway from Koper to Maribor, overflying Ljubljana and then made a left turn to line up with runway 31.
After landing reverse trust was not deployed but we slowly braked all the way to the end of the runaway and then taxied back to the terminal.
My seat, 21A. I was the last one off the aircraft.
Back in the terminal building, where I started my trip a few days ago.
Passport control for non-schengen passengers by night.
Big crowd around the conveyor belt.
We landed on time despite a late departure from BCN.
I feel sLOVEnia!
The terminal building and the old control tower.
This flight was one of the best I had. I was excited to be on this new plane and I think that Adria did a good job. The crew was fantastic and I hope I will get the chance to fly the A319 again in the near future. Hope you enjoyed this trip report.
