Well, it's time for my Quarteu visit to Memphis, I'm all packed:

Yes Suh, AH am going to Memphis:

Got to ALB and walked around:

Alb is built on ther site of the original Shaker farm, a chirstian sect best known for their distinctive furniture, particulary thier chars:

My 734 to CLT N454UW:

On board. about 90% LF:

The Colgan MX base with a 340 waiting for a new owner:

The Cheaspeake:

Charlotte Motor Speedway:

Downtown:

Yes, this a US hub:

I walked around a bunch, before I realized that Elvis did not get off the plane with me! "They tell mah conviar is old, dirty, and guzzle gas. Ah likes this 737, Ahm going to take and go to Palm beach! Call Nudie for me and have him make me a green jumpsuit. This here's the new King."
Concourse D:

We know no TR is complete without a 717:

Down To E , and the "little jets"

Plain Wrapper 145:

The CLT-Mem was done a Mesa CR9(N935LR). Lovely view:    the coffee maker was also broke

The Spotter's area at CLT:

MEM-Clt-ALB
Not something you see every day:

That's better:

"Ah own this here airport. Don't ley Fred smith tell you no lies:"

High School Art:

MEM-CLT was handled by N938FR, another Mesa CR9. The view is about the same:

Back on the ground at CLT:

I had bought a one day pass for $30. Compare to what some of you all have poster, US's club leave something to be desired:

Acthung, y'all:

It was nice to relax in a nice quiet settig, but the food was limited to chips and salsa, and the only n/a drinks I saw was coffee.
Out of the lounge. N102HQ- my E175 to ALB:

A330's are big birds:

The view is much improved over the CR9, still had close to 100% lF:

Flying old school:

Of Course, it was overcast:

A Nice touch: Most NA airline won't allow their "partners" any marketing. US is different, as the Card for the CR9 had Mesa on it instead of the flag:

NYC Down below:

And back in ALB:

Unfortenatley. My Mother called me on Monday and told me she had left the purse in the rental, so you can guess what I did all week long
Impresssions:
CLT is nice! US is ok. My main gripe that they have not been notifying me by email re:schedule changes. Makes flying a little more exciting! not!
734: Old, but not bad.
CR9: I always imagine the Bombardier engineer who designed the windows on the CRJ series say "They want to look at the windows? BAH! I will teach them a lesson!"
E175: My First time on a Ejet. Much better from a passagner pov than the competetion.
ALB: Nice little airport
MEM: well, they question is how much longer will DL stay around. They have done a better job at keeping most of it open vs the closed off concourses at STL.
Thanks for making it this far! More US to Memphis around Columbus day, unless DL really goes wild with the fares (Hah!)

Nifty little trip report.... Interesting to see MEM from a USAirways point of view....

As a Delta flyer I can confirm that Delta is REALLY reducing service there and it is becoming quite rare to see MEM offered as a connecting hub, which is a shame as flights from MEM are much easer to get upgraded on for Delta Elites than from Atlanta (where EVERYONE on the plane has status!)

"USAirway's Club is a decent club" -said no one ever.

Did you ask the bar for a soda, juice, etc? That's where most clubs keep all non-alcoholic drinks.

Memphis is definitely one of a kind. One of my favourite cities to visit. Great report!
Look ma' no hands!

Didn't think about that! I'll have to do it next time

I've noticed that there seems to be less and less Delta. While it does give MSCAA some leeway to do maintenance, one wonders when MEM will joining STL, PIT,BNA, RDU, MCI, and CVG on the "Ghost airport" list.
