This is my first trip report ever- over april break i flew to PDX to see my sister and new niece.

I was flying Jetblue from SYR-JFK then JFK-PDX. I have flown this route three times before and all three where good this one wasn't as good.... but you cant win them all.
I was supposed to leave April 2nd at 6:00pm on flt# 75 departing SYR and arriving around 7:10 but if you leave on time at 6 the flight to JFK from SYR is between 30-45 minutes usually so we should have gotten in around 6:45 with plenty of time to make the connection to PDX and do so spotting. Two summers ago when i flew this flight i had a 5 hour layover and the flight was delayed 2 hours so it ended up being a 7 hour layover wich is really long considering there was a 5+ hour flight to follow. For this one though it would be the complete opposite!!

Flight # 75 KSYR-KJFK N197JB "Color Me Blue"
Scheduled Depeture-6:00PM
Actual depture -7:10PM
Scheduled Arrival -7:15PM
Actual Arrival-8:00
Flight Time - 50 Minutes
I probably should have mentioned this earlier but im 16 and want to be a pilot for Jetblue and fly the A320. So i got to SYR about 2/12 hours early wich is crazy for SYR. From the time i walked in to check in was about 30 seconds!! After checking in i decided to head to terminal B where United and Delta are, its such a joke they call it terminal a and b because its just 2 sections broken up by the ramp with two checkpoints anyway so i turned around and got online to go through security and after standing there for about ten minutes without moving they make an announcement that there is a fire at one of the so called "restaurants" and they needed to have the fire dept come and put it out and about ten minutes later i was through and heading to gate 15 the main JetBlue gate at SYR. I went over to the window and looked at the jetway and ramp and main runway and of course saw nothing and turning around to go sit back down i saw a sun country 737 sitting on the other side of the airport turns out it was a charter taking SU to the final four in ATL. I then decided to charge my phone and listen to liveatc of JFK tower to hear if i could listen to my plane to JFK taking off up to SYR turns out it already took off..oh well then i heard an announcement that the return flight to jfk (my flight) would be delayed 1 hour. Wich could pose a problem for my connection to PDX. The gate agents where coming around for people that had connections and informing them of there situation. The good news was there where 14 people on the plane to JFK that would be going on my flight to PDX so they said if they had to they might hold the plane. But there would be no way to take picture of any of the planes at jfk  a real bummer. So once they made that announcement i went to go see some planes.

Once we pushed back we taxied to the deice pad wich was weird beacuse it was april! A company A320(N705JB) inbound from MCO to our gate. It took about twenty minutes to get deiced and the pilots one male one female where very helpful and kept updating us on our arrival time and connecting information for passangers. Once the deicing process was complete we taxied out to runway 28( the runway that goes west to east) and took off at 7:10PM into a cloudy rain and snowy sky. We made the usual turn to heading 150 and were cleared up to 10000 feet by air traffic control and a short while later where cleared to POMPY. Once we where through the clouds it was smooth sailing stright up to our crusing altitude of 21,000 feet. We where treated to a great sunset as we flew to JFK the two flight attendants came around with there express service wich consisted of coke, diet coke, sprite and water and a sweet and salty snack. We flew south then west then south again and flew west of Kennedy and east of Manhattan then over Brooklyn and out over the Atlantic to circle JFK from the south before landing from the west on runway 31R at 8:00PM for a total flying time of 50 minutes. We exited the runway infront of Terminal 7 and taxied straight to gate 11, on the way in we had to hold for a BA 747 and then taxied straight in. By the time i deplaned it was about 8:15 and we had to go straight to gate 3 for the next flight but i made a quick detour to see N821JB the first JB A320 with sharklets arriving from SFO. Then i went to gate 3 where they where wrapping up boarding i plugged my phone in so i could have as much battery as possible i get up to like 75% and then grabbed my boarding pass and boarded JetBlue flight 165 JFK-PDX as they where making the final boarding announcement.

We took off from runway 31L at 9:31PM 51 minutes late. After take off we made a left turn and flew the canarsie climb and then a few left turns over long island and Manhattan and we where on our way to PDX. The cabin crew did a great job and where very friendly. I got a iced tea and blue chips and some popcorn chips and settled in for a relaxing flight but it didnt turn out to be . My two seat mates ordered 2 or 3 wines and some other alcholic bevrages and where pretty drunk and loud for a lot of the flight. Besides that it was a good flight, about half way through it i went to the back galley and talked to the flight attendants for about a half hour they where both really nice and i told them that i want to be pilot for jetblue and we talked about flying and all the cities they have been to and neither of them remember the last time they where in syracuse....I wish i could say that. The rest of the flight was was smooth and we made a smooth straight in approach to PDX and landed from the east on runway 28R at 12:05AM for a flying time of 5 hours and 34 minutes. We taxied past 4 or 5 delta aircraft, one MD-90 was perparing for a redeye to MSP. We then made a left in between the two concourses and taxied past a hawaiian 763 and a united 737 before turning right and taxing into our gate C6 after a short wait i made my way off the plane into an empty PDX and then to my sisters to go to sleep after a long day.

It's nice to see some reports of my hometown airport on aside from my really old ones. I see you want to be a pilot - I'm at ERAU right now. If you ever want to talk about it, send me a PM!
