Flying The Thomson Dreamliner: Mahon To Gatwick

Sat Jun 22, 2013 8:17 am

Rather than the original 'run of the mill' written report, I have decided to present my experiences of TUI's new Dreamliner in video report format.

Enjoy..

Great video of TOM4537! It made me laugh seeing myself at 'work' busy taking pictures for the tripreport
The sound (or lack of) from the engines it's amazing. Such a quiet aircraft this is!

Thanks for sharing

hi Christian,
Nice video report. Watching it is just like if I were there... oh wait, I was there.
Good to have met up yesterday. You were lucky that you could see it landing in Mahon and make a video of it... great footage... While Eric and I were stuck in a very slow check-in line during it's arrival in Mahon. Thomson never heared of OLCI yet, perhaps their typical passenger always comes with overweight bags, buggy's etc.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Yes! I noticed whilst editing, I hope you don't mind too much.   It was an amazingly quiet aircraft, summed up when the Captain said he had to "look at the gauges to make sure the engines were on"!

It was good to meet you too! I think I can still put usernames to faces from yesterday. It was a cool experience. I was lucky that I saw a couple of other Airliners.Net members run past with their cameras after I'd finished shopping for a colleague, otherwise I'd of missed it too.

Thanks for your comments.

Good video mate. Congrats that you got a chance to fly 787. Plus I envy you and everyone who got the chance to fly those beautiful birds. JK JK.

I suppose one day they will be as common as a 767. But for now it's something new and intriguing to fly!

Thanks for your comment.

I don't normally bother with video reports but quite enjoyed this, thanks for taking the time to film and edit.

Cheers

Great video. Thanks!

Quick question. Looks like the speed brake was deployed at altitude. Was that in he decent phase. Is that 'common' for the Dreamliner?

I know what you mean.   I never really produced it with intention of posting it on here, but thought it was interesting enough to fit the bill as a trip report. These videos are fun to produce. Thanks for your comment Mark.

That was quite near to the top of the descent, so I see what you mean. I'm no expert so perhaps someone else can comment! Thanks for watching Sandy!
