Trump’s companies destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents

Mon Oct 31, 2016 10:08 pm

Trump seems to be hypocritical again with raising.

Over the course of decades, Donald Trump’s companies have systematically destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents demanded in official proceedings, often in defiance of court orders. These tactics—exposed by a Newsweek review of thousands of pages of court filings, judicial orders and affidavits from an array of court cases—have enraged judges, prosecutors, opposing lawyers and the many ordinary citizens entangled in litigation with Trump. In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled—sometimes in vain—to obtain records.

They never cease to amaze me.

First, Clinton wanting her own, private, unprotected server because she could not be bothered to use two BlackBerries, one for her private comms and one for her government comms.

Second, 560'000 e-mails concerning Clinton turning up on a Laptop in the possession of a known weiner. Not even Abedin could explain how they ended up there.

Third, Trump and this Russian bank not being able to properly hide their traffic. McFly? Somebody home? We have VPN and Tor and...

Well, Doc, there isn't a smoking gun. They could only prove that Trump and a Russian Bank set up a very strange method of communicating with each other. In IT, there are many bad ideas. If you can think of any bad idea... a programmer has already been there and done that. I'm an avid reader of thedailywtf.com. That's why I know that.

Whatever HRC is accused of, Trump has actually done it, bigly/big league. At this point it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he actually killed Vince Foster.

Sadly, his destruction of documents in cases going back over 40 years is bad enough, now you know why he is hiding his tax returns.
I bet most of the critical discoverable material he had destroyed in the run up for the trial starting next month or so as to his infamous 'Trump University'.
I hope at some point some judge puts him and his lawyers in jail for contempt of court, destroying civil and criminal matter evidence, impeding discovery. Its just too bad HRC is only a little less unethical.

Bombshell alert. Here's your Red Oktober Surprise.

I am amazed that the NYT isn't pursuing the investigation into this electronic link between Trump's server and Alpha bank.

They write:
"In classified sessions in August and September, intelligence officials also briefed congressional leaders on the possibility of financial ties between Russians and people connected to Mr. Trump. They focused particular attention on what cyberexperts said appeared to be a mysterious computer back channel between the Trump Organization and the Alfa Bank, which is one of Russia’s biggest banks and whose owners have longstanding ties to Mr. Putin.

F.B.I. officials spent weeks examining computer data showing an odd stream of activity to a Trump Organization server and Alfa Bank. Computer logs obtained by The New York Times show that two servers at Alfa Bank sent more than 2,700 “look-up” messages — a first step for one system’s computers to talk to another — to a Trump-connected server beginning in the spring. But the F.B.I. ultimately concluded that there could be an innocuous explanation, like a marketing email or spam, for the computer contacts."

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/01/us/po ... ottom-well

Finding conversations between two non-published IP addresses is a bit like stumbling upon a coax cable between Trump tower and the Russian Embassy. But the FBI and apparently the NYT brush it off as a bit of spam or something like that.

I think Slate got it right.

Salttee,

I can add 4 more to that list.

-Trump claimed that the effort to re-take Mosul is actually a effort to influence to elections by helping Hillary.
-Claims he knows more about ISIS than the generals
-Claims that the battle to re-take Mosul is a total disaster
-Told former dean of the Army War College, retired Army Col. Jeff McCausland "You can tell your military expert that I'll sit down and I'll teach him a couple of things," (in reference to the battle to re-take Mosul)

If these were already on your list I am sorry, I did not see them.

It was Slate's list not mine. I sure agree with you though, especially the part where the draft dodging fool is going to teach Colonel McCausland about assault tactics. Trump has no idea of how the assaults on Mosul have played out. He hasn't a clue.

WHen Hillary goes down or away for her crimes, it will be like a veil finally lifted away from Washington. Well, not really, that is until the rest of the criminals are outed and removed from "government service".

it will be a great week, watchuing her squirm :)

Get used to saying "Madam President".

After you learn how to spell.

Oh, very well done. Clever, aren't you? I can say Mr. President just fine, thanks. (ps, my keyboard sticks - not that it's any of your business, but glad to see you can carry on with the lefty's guide to arguments.)

Not that the right likes facts but, it is a fact that the Clinton family have been under constant investigation for 30 years. Their lives are open books. I know that does not fit the narrative that they are secretive and always hiding something but, let's be honest.

The "right" likes facts as well as the "left" likes to shy away from them.

It's amusing that the Clintons have been "investigated" for thirty years, and only now that they run afoul of laws, or decency? Unlikely, but ok. It could be that since Hillary is trying to worm her way into the White House that the gloves come off and they don't get treated like "royalty"? Maybe. Open books are often skimmed over too - and it is sometimes easier to hide in the open than under-cover.

The narritive that isn't being followed is Hillary's and the Democrats - me thinks that America is finally getting tired of being manipulated or lied to. Do I think that things will be 100% better with Trump in the White House? No. But it will be worth it to see the "establishment" being shown for what it is (Trump belongs to the 'outside' establishment). Even more worth it to see lefty's heads explode when Trump gets sworn in.

Funny thing is, as with most odd things - the "Left" brought this on themselves. Trump wouldn't even be on the radar if there was anything of substance (like the Democrats are screaming about having Hillary being painted as) brought forward when he first threw his hat in the ring. But, since Hillary was beginning to lose her grip on the election, things began to surface about him. Yes, it is funny. And odd. And highly suspect.

Maybe in the end they'll be cell-block mates in a minimun security prison. Who knows. :)

The right has spent how much tax payer money on a witch hunt, all the while promising that the Clintons are corrupt and they will be caught in their web of lies and corruption. Well, they have both been under oath how many times and under investigation for how long and they are still not in jail? How does that saying go? Methinks thou doth protest too much.

But honestly, Mrs. Clinton could have been much more proactive concerning her e-mails. It's a first in US history - never have there been presidential candidates plagued by ongoing criminal investigations. As an elected official, having a private e-mail server enables you to evade accountability. That Sarah Palin, Colin Powell, George W. Bush and everybody else has been doing it is no excuse. There is no right to equal treatment if you've committed a wrong.

People keep complaining about the "liberal bias" in media but nothing but nothing is ever said about how Republicans do the exact same thing. The "liberal" media keeps going on and on as if Hillary is the first and only person to break rules. And, all the while, the "liberal" media does not report that Hillary keeps telling FBI investigators to go ahead and investigate. If she really were hiding something, why would she keep telling them to investigate? Further, it does show a lack of understanding and knowledge by the "liberal" media in not reporting or caring about Republicans doing the exact same thing or worse.

When Hillary was asked to turn over emails, she did all she could to turn them over. When Karl Rove was asked to turn over emails (related to a Democratic led investigation) hosted on a private server owned by the Republican National Committee, they were "lost" and the "liberal" media said "oh, well.... nothing to see here..." Trey Gowdy was shown to have doctored some of Hillary's emails and what did the "liberal" media do? Nothing. I guess this proves that Republicans are pure and innocent and should never be investigated.

Never has there been one who is going to go to trial for raping a 13 year old. But that ruins the narrative, doesn't it?

And George W. Bush was a sitting president and did it. So why the investigation now? That's easy-the GOP runs Congress. That is the ONLY reason so much time has been spent on this and on "BENGHAZI!" Neither is criminal, but we've spent more times on those than 9/11, Pearl Harbor and President Kennedy's assassination. And you can't see that all of that stinks?

So good to see the left and Hillary squirming going into the last week. She was supposed to be the heir apparent and walk in 8 years ago but she was beat down, this was again supposed to be her time to walk in and again she is taking a beating. Maybe with a little luck she can be gone forever, until she has to appear again for questioning

Neither candidate is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. The FBI/DOJ said that they were not considering indicting Mrs. Clinton and no recent statement even begins to suggest that that will change. Even Mr. Trump's rape case is a lawsuit (civil), not a criminal trial.

Actually, all I seem to hear is how great and hard done by Hillary is (?) and how much of a 'deplorable' person Trump is. Not sure what news you're watching is. If they actually start reporting on issues (which issues? Well, the ones they both are supposed to be campaigning on...) instead of trying to one-up each other on nonsense, maybe there would be some semblance of reality with this election.

Probably not, though - with the Left twisting things out of whack, it would be hard to even get an honest report on how many graveyards were used by the Democrats. Shame really...I understand that even life-long Rebublicans are voting Democrat once they've departed from this blue marble.

Shame really - Bernie and Trump would have made a decent election, rather Bernie got tossed for...yeah, you guessed it. Queen of the Emails.

Because that's ACTUALLY accurate. You don't get to be Mrs. Clinton's age without having made a few mistakes. But You can get to be Mr. Trump's age (almost the same) while having made a lot fewer than he has (if you can call them "mistakes.")

Hillary actually has a plan fully laid out on her web site. Trump has a few vague promises.

But, yes, do go on about how awful Hillary is.

And, no, no one gets to say "just because Rove, Rice, and Powell did it makes it wrong for Hillary." That is just saying "my guys can break the rules but impossibly high standards are set for your guys."

All this Alfa Bank server nonsense aside, I was bored yesterday doing a little bit of searching and reading.

Apparently Trump, or one of his companies have been a party to ~3,500 lawsuits over the years? (Plaintiff, or Defendant).

That is absolutely hilarious to me, 3,500! The man is 70 years old, so we're talking an average (from birth) of 50 lawsuits a year.

Also, (I'm a big fan of Snopes) I wasn't aware that his wife Ivana had testified under oath that he had assaulted her (ripped out a chunk of her hair), and "violently" raped her.

http://www.snopes.com/are-we-not-going- ... out-trump/

What a total scumbag. I can't wait until he loses the election.

Every major business has been sued hundreds and thousands of times. If you're operating in dozens of countries and have thousands of employees, vendors, and clients its inevitable. Its just part of doing business. All large companies have dedicated teams of lawyers just to deal with the mundane lawsuits that come in weekly.

Indeed. I should add to the information in my original post that the 3,500 lawsuits Mr. Trump has been a party to have been conducted in the last 30 years alone.

I am quite aware of the legal challenges faced by major businesses, and whether or not you consider any of Mr. Trumps businesses to be "major" (which I do not), is beside the point. I have not been able to dig up any lawsuit information regarding companies which I do consider major (GE, Apple, Microsoft, Walmart, Chevron, etc.) But I will do my best to find some data to compare Mr. Trumps legal history with.

Links?

Enjoy.

So, according to this ONE "expert" the FBI concluded, without much research, that the server linking to a Russian bank is nothing but Hillary releasing all her emails is still hiding something? W. T. actual F????? From your linked article, no one actually took the time to read what was being said between the Trump server and Russia. Just that they are secret communications and "probably" (the security expert's word, not mine) nothing.

Are you serious with this? A Trump owned server secretly communicating with Russia is probably nothing, and, therefore, we should just ignore it?

Water's rising. Just ignore it.
Chest pains. Just ignore it.
Iceberg right ahead! Just ignore it.

Sounds like a solid plan.
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!

WHen Hillary goes down or away for her crimes, it will be like a veil finally lifted away from Washington. Well, not really, that is until the rest of the criminals are outed and removed from "government service".

it will be a great week, watchuing her squirm :)

Who knows. :)

Can we impeach them both? That'd be fun.

The gaslighting by the left over these last 8 years has led to chickens coming home to roost. There's only so many times you can say "nothing to see here, move along" before the public stops believing you.

In the lastest ABC tracker poll, Trump is more trusted than Hillary now. Incredible! Nobody believes this nonsense anymore.

You're accusing the left of gaslighting? Do you know what the term actually means?

You aren't the least bit curious how Iraq and 9/11 were apparently Obama's fault? That's fucking gaslighting buddy.

240. Trump received the endossement of the KKK.

Or did he received the kiss of death ;-)

No amount of liberal propaganda can prevent the inevitable victory of Trump from happening anymore.

As you might have noticed, I cannot vote in American election, so have no vested interest in this election abroad, but they are entertaining though.

Trump still is behind in the polls, so no probably he will not win. Apparently he will be accused by a women of raping her, when she was only 13, old accusation but now she is out in the open.

BTW, what propaganda, the Trump campaign felt it necessary to reject to the KKK-endossement, you might not take it seriously, but the Trump campaign does. You may be a Trump supporter, well it is a free country to make dom mistakes, but you have to be real ;-)
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Things like that attack the credibility of the other side too. I have no idea where Obama was in the government back then, but that kind of thinking is very suspect - and unbelievable. Now you want to say Libya, Syria, Egypt, the rest of North Africa, continuation/strengthening of ISIS....now there's an awful good leg to stand on.

No sense at all giving Obama credit where he doesn't deserve it. Having said that, can the "committee" take his peace prize away? That, he doesn't deserve. Didn't then, either.
