I would imagine that there won't be much growth unless we get some clarity on the status going forward of the MAX between now and then.

True and apparently the launch of Hawaii flying is delayed by a week already.

Someone brought up that Sunday's OAK-HNL flight was "zeroed out" (his words, not mine) and interpreted that to mean the flight had been cancelled as opposed to sold out. And, as someone else pointed on on that topic in that thread, since WN's using the 738 as opposed to the 3M8, you'd likely see other routes be cancelled before Hawaii service is impacted.
2019: DAL, MCI, PHX, LAS, DFW, SAT, ORD, SLC, SEA, DTW; B73G (WN x3), B738 (WN, AA, DL), A20N (NK), MD83 (AA), B788 (AA x2), CS1 (DL), 739 (DL), 712 (DL)
Next: AA: DFW-PHL (752), PHL-MIA (763), MIA-LAX (77W), LAX-DFW (789)

I think it is sold out. But where did you come up with a one week delay? There is no way to tell in Sabre or the others if a flight is sold out or zeroed out. For zeroed out you look at the future and if all days for perpetuity are zero availability, then that is zeroed out and probably not operting. I think OAK-HNL is sold out.

I'm going on the info of a poster in the MAX grounding thread who said that WN's Hawaii ops were all zeroed out for the first week. Not likely that every single seat for WN's first week of Hawaii ops is 100% sold out already. That's why I said 'apparently' as I don't have access to a GDS system (used to way back when :) )

They are, in fact, sold out at this point... westbound and eastbound. WN also told it's employees that they suggest against trying to nonrev as flights almost 10-12 weeks out are already close to being sold out.

Well availability is showing on their website. So they aren’t sold out. I’m seeing bookability on the return on March 19.

Only adds Rumored were the Additional Hawaii flights SAN,SMF and LIH.
But rumors that WN has pushed all three back to December tentatively to cover possible MAX8 grounding.

They're going to delay Hawaii service by basically AN YEAR to cover the MAX calamity?
Right.
Sure.
After all they delays they've already experienced, and thousands of tickets already sold.
I'n calling BS on that rumor!

This schedule release was supposed to add Inter Island LIH and non stops from SAN,SMF to Hawaii in MAY.
But with the possibility of a FAA grounding of the MAX8 from Political pressure. WN will use the 20 planned ETOPS 800's to cover the possible grounded MAX8 until a fix is available if the 2nd crash was the same problem as Lion aircraft.
This extension could just possibly be a normal seasonal schedule change for Thanksgiving flying.
Planned 700 retirements also rumored to be on hold until further notice.

Hearts and prayers to those affected and loss of life from the 2 accidents.

I personally think WN should take the high road and temporarily ground the aircraft until the information from the crash is reported by the NTSB.

LOL. They haven't broken ground on the new terminal and AFAIK they haven't even figured out how they're going to pay for it. Not going to happen.

I also hear that they could open up NRT, but it's probably going to be on the next schedule extension. Also heard they could start DTW-ISN too. Could.

This schedule only goes to November 2. Next release will be the Thanksgiving schedule.

It's just a one month extension during a slow time of year..don't expect much. If anything a few seasonal adds and maybe some additional Hawaii flying.

I think that WN is likely to announce additional nonstop Hawaii routes in Thursday's schedule extension.

WN is also likely to announce the initial 737 MAX 7 routes in Thursday's schedule extension since WN will be taking delivery of the Boeing 737 MAX 7's later this year and since WN hasn't yet announced any initial Boeing 737 MAX 7 routes.

While I agree that WN will further expand at MCI, WN will continue to maintain focus cities at BNA, STL, and MDW, even with any further expansion at MCI by WN.

WN is unlikely to ever serve ICT, OMA, or DSM nonstop from MCI since these three destinations are too close to MCI for WN to serve these destinations nonstop from MCI. In addition, there are some commentators who have recently said that WN is still planning on further expansion at STL.

Would anyone put it past KC-MO government to mean March 25, 2020? Because that would be the most KC-MO thing ever. (I know in local Kansas City parlance, the preferred stylization for Kansas City, Missouri is "KCMO" but I intentionally added the hyphen to avoid people thinking that I was referring to some obscure American airport. But, the sarcasm still stands...)

WN does not have any current plans to use MAX 7's on any nonstop routes to or from Hawaii. WN will very likely be using its MAX 7's on routes that do not require ETOPS-certified aircraft.

DAL-HOU will be one of the initial 737 MAX 7 routes. WN will primarily operate the 737 MAX 7 planes on routes within the contiguous U.S.

That’s a shame. It would be the perfect aircraft for WN to add SNA/BUR to Hawaii without Paylod restrictions. As well as adding routes where a 738 is too much capacity or longer distances the 8 couldn’t run. DAL/HOU???

With the current MAX8 & 9 grounding Ordered by Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if WN pushed tomorrow schedule release for 30days.

I was thinking the same thing. Grounding 5% of their fleet will force them to make some schedule modifications.
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

Seems like it will still go on, this is their schedule for 7 months into the future, so if MAX8s are still grounded at that time they can make adjustments later.

Just seen on the schedules page on WN.com:

On March 18, 2019 we will open our schedule for sale through November 2, 2019. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Monday it is... as of now.

On March 30th one of my plane change flights ELP-PHX-LAS, specifically the ELP-PHX leg,(#5551) was a MAX-8. Do I have to do anything myself (it says the flight is sold out now) or will WN just automatically swap the intended MAX with a 73G?

I would think Monday would stick. I can’t imagine they need to adjust the November schedule due to MAX groundings. Should be back in service in plenty of time.

Unless something from NTSB is known by Monday morning I don't see the rush to announce any new Hawaii flights or October schedule release at this time. I think Monday morning it will again have been pushed back until Mid April at best.

Sounds like Hawaii 2nd but now much smaller wave vs the Bigger Expansion is still a go on Monday.
Estimated to just be SAN 1 to OGG and 1 to HNL. Followed buy 1 SMF-HNL only. KOA stays as just Inter island until November or December.
LIH also sounds like it's been pushed back to November or December inter Island only.

To cover the 34 MAX8 aircraft All planned 700 retirements pushes until fall 2020. The quick spring and summer fix WN will temporarily trim and retime some high frequency markets to redeploy the aircraft on MAX8 lines.

A decrease in 2% of the scheduled that's already released.

Will be MAX7 be ETOPS certified?

WN does not have any current plans to use MAX 7's on any nonstop routes to or from Hawaii. WN will very likely be using its MAX 7's on routes that do not require ETOPS-certified aircraft.

DAL-HOU will be one of the initial 737 MAX 7 routes. WN will primarily operate the 737 MAX 7 planes on routes within the contiguous U.S.

Oh??? And how exactly do you know that there are NO PLANS to use the MAX7 for any ETOPS missions and that they will stay in the lower 48?!? Please link all sources in your response. Also if you could limit your educated response to 3 sentences Im sure most here would appreciate it!

We are currently accepting air reservations through October 1 , 2019. On March 15, 2019 we will open our schedule for sale through November 2, 2019. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

So now the schedule is coming out tomorrow?

That is surprising, I figured we would see another delay.

Update at 7:30pm PDT, it STILL says the sked-extension will be issued tomorrow, March 15!

I suspect they had a few adjustments -- removal of the Max8s that they had included in the November sked extension (that couldn't be replaced with other available aircraft) -- and it looks like it didn't take that much effort or time to accomplish.

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens tomorrow!

I would guess they just flipped them to 800s as placeholders, if they changed them at all. They have to imagine the MAXs will be back in the air by then. They can just flip them back once they are approved to fly again. Probably the bigger reason it was pushed back is that they were trying to figure out how to reschedule March/April and didn't want to do a new schedule push during that.
