Dramatic shoot!
You can easily see in what kind of troubles the Pilots are!

A visitor from - posted Mon September 8, 2008:
Nice shot. Hard landing with smoking tires.

A visitor from Iran, Islamic Republic Of posted Fri August 1, 2008:
It was so good!!!

A visitor from United States posted Thu July 17, 2008:
Having recently flown China Airlines, this landing seems rather ordinary. fantastic photo!

Horrendous landing - but great shot!

A visitor from South Africa posted Sat December 29, 2007:
Great timing for this shot! This looks close to damage, or loosing control.

A visitor from Libyan Arab Jamahiriya posted Sat November 24, 2007:
This is what i call "landing technique"-excellent

A visitor from United States posted Tue November 20, 2007:
I'd love to be on that plane at the moment. Scary moments are always a thrill.

A visitor from France posted Sat November 17, 2007:
Very good !

A visitor from South Africa posted Thu November 1, 2007:
Caught at the right moment, not a "posed" pic like normal

A visitor from Russian Federation posted Sat October 27, 2007:
You normal see planes when they're either fine or crashed. Very rarely do you see them on the fine line between the two

A visitor from Italy posted Thu October 25, 2007:
Astonishing

A visitor from United States posted Wed July 25, 2007:
Whoa! A crosswind landing?!

A visitor from El Salvador posted Fri July 13, 2007:
Good Picture, Congratulations. Poor people that were in the airplane

A visitor from United States posted Tue June 26, 2007:
Because someone was there! great angle, pulled the trigger at just the right time!

A visitor from China posted Tue May 8, 2007:
Nice shot there! However it apparently isn't very unusual to the CO 777 pilots. Whenever I land at EWR on CO, we make similar landings where you can hear the tires screech and feel the rudder moving swiftly to bring us back on track...the A/C suddenly swerves to the right and some first time pax think we almost crashed and start clapping lol :)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat April 21, 2007:

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 14, 2006:
It is amazing pic. I am just wondering if that was a secuessfull landing

A visitor from United States posted Mon November 20, 2006:
The potential for disaster draws me to this picture. it makes me wonder how often sights like this happen. it also makes me glad that i am not on this plane.

A visitor from Denmark posted Wed October 25, 2006:

I bet the pilot of the aeroplane on the taxiway had noodles in his stomach...

Nice photo! I guess it's another one of those landings where one set of wheels touchdown before the other. Gee, I wish I went on a Kai Tak ride. Too late now!

A visitor from Norway posted Sun June 25, 2006:
Not good ending of the flight.

A visitor from Canada posted Wed June 21, 2006:

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed May 31, 2006:
The pilot in the twin was probably thinking: Who the hell gave that idiot a license?'

A visitor from United States posted Sun May 28, 2006:
Lmao. I wonder what the pilot in the twin on the taxiway was thinking when he saw this.

A visitor from Finland posted Thu May 25, 2006:
Stunning photo. Just amazing..

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon May 15, 2006:
Fabulous image and I just love the way you can see the tyre marks on the runway. How he squared that off without going on the grass - I do not know.

A visitor from United States posted Sun May 14, 2006:
Lol its like "next slide--plane COMPLETELY off the runway in the water" (thats what everyone thinks) but the real next slide-plane aligned with the runway--i bet half the passengers got whiplash! lol

wouldnt want to be in the lavatory at that time lol

A visitor from Uruguay posted Fri May 12, 2006:
The view of shot is great and the pilot is drunk, as we say.. Esta en Pedo!!!

A visitor from United States posted Sat May 6, 2006:

This is a 747 tuned by the Need For Speed Underground Mechanic. Real crazy

A visitor from Canada posted Tue April 18, 2006:
The PAPI doesn't show that this plane is too high, it shows that whoever took this picture is too high. Amazingly lucky shot.

A visitor from United States posted Tue April 18, 2006:
I miss the kai tak pics because of the crosswinds seeing the unusaul landings

A visitor from United States posted Sun April 16, 2006:
Is this a crash?

A visitor from Germany posted Mon March 27, 2006:
"great" service during the flight, and this is in-flight-entertainment ;0)

A visitor from United States posted Sun March 19, 2006:
Dammit, I told you not to push the rudder pedal!

A visitor from Italy posted Thu March 9, 2006:
That's amazing!!

A visitor from Malaysia posted Sun March 5, 2006:
Hey...notice the PAPI lights...it shows that its too high....buy when i see other pic on the same approuch...it shows that they are too low...i dont understand this....
any way..nice pic..

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun February 12, 2006:
5 stars

A visitor from Malaysia posted Sun February 12, 2006:
Great Pic. By the way, Mr. Pilot, how much did Boeing pay u to do an on-site, extreme-stress-test on their landing gears? ... i must say, VERY reliable gears :)

A visitor from Bulgaria posted Tue February 7, 2006:
1. It is all about physics.Even if the plane crashes its pieces will be headed along the centerline. Its speed vector (invisible :)) is pointing down the runway, though it is headed towards the other plane.I think the other pilot knows this and is cool. Planes on wheels are not like automobiles on wheels.Real pilots correct me if I am wrong!
2. I think several years ago the Chinese pilots were destinguished as the best in the world by the BOEING company, at least for that year. So have your sweet-sour chicken with confidence. :)

A visitor from United States posted Sun February 5, 2006:
If there were a Harlem Globetrotters, airplane edition, this pilot would be the star player!

Alejandro

A visitor from United States posted Fri January 27, 2006:
Wow! I've seen this picture a dozen times, but now what I question more than "what happened?" is "what is the pilot/crew in the oncoming A330 thinking?" (if that's what it is) - I'd be scared out of my mind! A great shot though... landing at Kai Tak was like a rollercoaster... I miss it!

A visitor from United States posted Thu January 26, 2006:
What do you suppose the approaching pilot will be saying?? The photos is a real lucky shot and done rather nicely considering the rush to get it shot before it is gone

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Sun January 8, 2006:
Realy good timeing...

A visitor from United States posted Fri January 6, 2006:
Looks awesome

A visitor from United States posted Fri January 6, 2006:
I think its time for a tire check after this

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri December 30, 2005:
Great area around it, you don't just capture the landing, you capture the pilots in he other plane soiling themselves :P

A visitor from Australia posted Thu December 15, 2005:
I was on a united airlines flight (fright?) in 96 from Heathrow to dulles (washington dc) that landed not much better than this. Landing into a straight headwind (not crosswind) the plane hit hard and dived for the fences but was righted instantly. the pilot thought it was international year of the turkey and decided to fly like one.

A visitor from Poland posted Wed December 14, 2005:
Ykhm.. Landing with gear down is too easy :P ;)

A visitor from Canada posted Sun December 11, 2005:
I've never seen crazy landings like this in Hong Kong where I used to live beside Kai Tak! But seeing it Kai Tak and China Airlines it isn't all too surprising (China Airlines has a bad reputation for "bad flights" and the flower on the back also sometimes symbolize bad luck)

A visitor from Finland posted Fri December 9, 2005:
With prpeller ok,but with 747???????????

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 9, 2005:
Wow

A visitor from Canada posted Thu November 10, 2005:
The very unusual attitude of the plane, the spoilers up, the tracks leading to the left. everything about it is great.

A visitor from Australia posted Thu November 3, 2005:
Amazing shot! Nothing like a 747 heavy landing sideways! Lucky there was no engine strike!!

A visitor from Finland posted Tue November 1, 2005:
This is different.

A visitor from Australia posted Mon October 31, 2005:
Re the comment about a B52 landing like this: At least B52's had under-carriage designed for crab-landings!

A visitor from Bahamas posted Sat October 29, 2005:
China Airlines, says it all really! Clear the skies! Excellent photo

A visitor from Brazil posted Fri October 28, 2005:
Hey! That guy is drifting her tuned 747 on track!

A visitor from United States posted Thu October 20, 2005:
I think I would have been more than slightly frightened if I had been in that other airliner on the taxiway...HERE COMES A 747! I hope nothing bad happened(!)

A visitor from China posted Fri October 14, 2005:
A big surprising

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue October 11, 2005:
One or those right place right time kinda shots, timing is brilliant, pilot did well to recover from that one!!

A visitor from Brazil posted Tue September 20, 2005:

A visitor from Australia posted Tue September 20, 2005:
I Think This Photo Is Pretty Good, But I Just Love Those Ones Going Over Maho Beach Into St.Maarten International Airport!

A visitor from United States posted Sun September 18, 2005:
Carefull.....I think I saw a B-52 make a landing like that once.Nice shot.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue September 13, 2005:
How rare the photo is or the incident in it.

A visitor from Finland posted Sat September 10, 2005:
Idea is great for getting landed

A visitor from United States posted Wed September 7, 2005:
Wow. did that pilot end up landing that. cause i think it would be hard to land a 747-400 sideways

A visitor from United States posted Tue September 6, 2005:
Excellent photo you got it at the exact right time

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun August 28, 2005:
Someone needs new glasses!

A visitor from France posted Thu August 25, 2005:
What's next ????

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 24, 2005:
The plance has hit the ground, and appears it will be in real trouble soon but it's holding it's own right now. It should be a helpful shot in determining the condition on landing, and useful for comparison when the plane finally stops.

A visitor from Australia posted Mon August 22, 2005:
Craziest landing I've ever seen!!!
Probably the CI pilots used to fly the F-16 in Taiwan & try to fly this big bird the same way~

A visitor from Latvia posted Sun August 21, 2005:
The machine should be front wheel drive on such slippy surface.. ;)

A visitor from Australia posted Sat August 20, 2005:
Awesome photo... Kai Tak beats St. Maarten any day!

A visitor from Latvia posted Fri August 19, 2005:
