Checking the original postcard "DO-X-Landing on the Lake of Zurich-November 1932" (Edition *Weltbild* Olten 2000)
I must admit that my indicated date "1924" cannot be correct, just because the "Maiden flight" was on 12th July 1929! In 1934 nevertheless, all the planes were withdrawn from service.The expensive dream was over! Adrian M. Kilchmann, Zurich, Switzerland

A very authentic and impressive perfect
timepiece of the technical avantgarde and the luxurious way of travelling of the "happy few" in the 20ies.(3 Decks, Smoking Saloon, Bar, Sleeping Department etc.)
Same plane landed on the Lake of Zurich in Switzerland in 1924. My father was a witness then when he was 18. The roar of the 12 engines must have been overwhelming for that
time.Postcards of the extraordinary event were printed and are on sale until today! Adrian M.Kilchmann,Zurich,

Very much a 'slice of time' photograph during the Golden Age of air travel, and a rare flying boat to boot. Detail is excellent - one can nearly make out the name on the skiff. A valuable resource for modelers as well.
