And perfect timing here, the landing gear is just touching down, there's a tiny bit of smoke just behind the right main gear! 5 *****! | |

One such example is that there could have been windshear. You have to remember that there are a lot of definitions to the word wind shear. They could have had a temperature inversion (wind shear), heavy winds aloft down to what looks like a 10 kt xwind(wind shear), or perhaps the wind changed directions right at that moment.
