1716 (cn 382-5023) There's no better location to view the Golden Gate Bridge than from a Coast Guard C-130...Note the trail of dust left behind from our engines.

Fantastic! well done Kevin

A visitor from United States posted Fri July 25, 2008:
The two people just casually laying down on the ramp. There is no sense of wind when looking at the two. Just a sense of peace as they view the bridge, beautiful scenery and the sail boat. Two man made contrasts of the plane and bridge against the beauty of the cliffs and ocean. I am from San Francisco so am a little biased.

It is not a readily accessible subject; it gives a new viewpoint on a familiar landmark; it is technically good; it puts the viewer in a place he/she might well like to be in these circumstances; it has a 'wow' appeal. Tony Wood, England

Talk about a great view!what a great ride home!

A visitor from - posted Thu November 1, 2007:
The angle of the shot really gives the impression of how spectacular a view this is. The national landmark is clearly visible, and from a different angle than is normally expected. The weather is spectacular, and the two airmen reclining on the cargo deck are a nice touch. It takes one a few moments to realize what exactly is going on, then it's breathtaking.

A visitor from Canada posted Thu November 1, 2007:

This shot is unique in it's perspective. Not many people get to view the Golden Gate Bridge, or any other subject from the cargo bay of an airplane. The photographer even shows the safety lines on the others in the photo, and the eye moves out the open hatch to catch the beautiful view.

A visitor from United States posted Tue October 30, 2007:

A visitor from Canada posted Mon October 29, 2007:
Great framing for the subject. Exposure is well done, details are visible inside and outside of the aircraft. Besides, I'd love the chance to check out the view from the same reclined position.

You get the sense you are actually in the picture taking a ride in the bay of the plane. When in the Navy we steamed out and back under the bridge and now vicariously I have sailed over it.

A visitor from United States posted Fri October 26, 2007:
I could tell this was a C130 beautiful just beautiful

A visitor from United States posted Fri October 26, 2007:
I love the clarity of this shot. Good contrast between the light and the shadows. The bridge looks as though it is in a fairy land scene, such a good contrast with the coast guard observing the whole scene.

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Fri October 26, 2007:
Best "balcony" view I`ve ever seen...

A visitor from United States posted Fri October 26, 2007:
The contrast in darks and lights helps intensify the sense of near and far and also the great difference in scale. the people who are in fact small in realtionship to the bridge and boats are much bigger in the image than the bridge or boats.

A visitor from United States posted Fri October 26, 2007:
