N744PA (cn 44886/705) Pan Am's Douglas DC-7C "Clipper Pacific Trader" at Whenuapai (Auckland) on one of its scheduled flights into the Pacific region between Los Angeles and Auckland in 1963. Maintenance work is being carried out on the port inner type R-3350 3,400hp Wright Turbo-compound (exhaust-driven turbines) 18 cylinder radial piston engine. The last of the Wright Cyclone engines.
