Ikaria airport from North. Runway 33/15 is dangerous on approach since terrain to the northwest creates turbulence with most frequent north winds. Near there is the spot where in Greek mythology Icarus (hence the island's name) wax wings melt and he plunged into the sea. More: Kyprianos Biris
