A visitor from France posted Wed August 23, 2006:
You have captured one of the rare instances in aviation today: a piston engine being kicked up! A pity that there is no sound to accompany it!

A visitor from United States posted Mon August 21, 2006:
In my openion Yak-52 is the best plane for privet use and a lot more. Feel the starting 360 h.p. M-14 engine!

A visitor from France posted Sat August 19, 2006:

You have 2 get close and low 2 take such a great pic !
But then you get rewarded with a brilliant shot !
Well done to the photograph (and the pilot).

A visitor from Belgium posted Thu May 4, 2006:
Today, Thursday 04 May 2006, this lovely shot of "Janie" became the most popular Yak 52 picture on Airliners.net with 12,500 distinct views !
Hope to see more photos of this very "classy" Yak 52 registered G-CBSS on your great website for aviation fanatics like me. If you want to see this baby for real and even fly "Russian", go to the beautiful grass airfield of Namur in Belgium where she is regularly flown by Etienne Verhellen and his friends. You will also see another Yak 52, a Yak 50, a couple of Stampes (SV-4), a Pitts S-2B, some gliders and the Pilatus going up with the Paras and down without ... ! What a great place !

A visitor from Canada posted Tue April 25, 2006:
Well done "Janie" !
Congratulations on winning the Yak Acro Trophy in Breighton (UK) during the John McLean Trophy 2006 (See British Aerobatic Association website).
Bravo Etienne !

Go Janie !! Go !!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Tue January 31, 2006:
Turning the prop, priming, turning, priming, what a job, but it's worth. A short doubt and then it's alive, running on all nine cilinders, wow what a sound. This must be a plane with character and watch out, you can fall in love with her/him.

A visitor from Singapore posted Mon January 30, 2006:
Starting a 9 cylinders "Radial" engine is great fun for everyone : pilot and spectators alike as this great shot clearly demonstrates ... and try to imagine the lovely growl of this flying machine ... the smell of leather and oil in the cockpit ... the G's when pulling a loop !
Yak 52 ... pleasure for all the senses ! Yeah !!

A visitor from India posted Sat January 14, 2006:

When I was working in Brussels I used to go to the friendly airfield of Namur just to catch "Janie" starting ... and doing her stuff in the air ! A joy to watch ... and the most wonderful growl of the 9 cylinders radial engine !

Yep, this is the first picture on Airliner.net of this great looking Yak 52 owned by Etienne Verhellen from Belgium.
Hope to see more of her ...
The paint scheme is very nice : metallic blue with a grey nose and tail.

A visitor from Belgium posted Sun August 28, 2005:
The only picture of "Janie" (G-CBSS) on Airliner.net and the more original Yak 52 start-up shot. This Yak is now based in Belgium (Namur - EBNM) and she is flown by a Boeing 747-400 Airline Pilot.
