As close as we could legally get, photo taken at 600mm from about 12 miles away. You can see the main 15,000ft runway in the foreground, above are the lakebed runways (Rwy 35 L/C/R markings can be seen - it's 4.5 miles long) On the main apron some KC10's can be seen, also visible is the NASA 747 for shuttle carrying and the control tower.

Well, you can legally get closer, you can fly overhead actually. All you have to do is ask and be granted permission. Then you're good to go.

Great picture though, of a very symbolistic Air Force Base.
