Ben Guerir was one of the Transatlantic Abort Sites for the Space Shuttle until June 2002. The base was built by the USA in the fifties and was a SAC base until 1962. B-47 operated from here. NASA rejuvenated the runway in 1988 and installed an MLS and TACAN for the Shuttle. Will be the base for the 24 Moroccan F-16C.

I was stationed there in 1955-1956. It brings back memories that I thought had been lost for years. I was in the Air Police Squadron working in K-9s. My dogs name was Aldo. We worked the bomb dumps at night. S/Sgt Harold Sims, USAF

I was stationed there in 1958, and was among the first men to move into our new barracks. This sure brought back some memory. Thanks you

I was stationed at Ben Guerir Air Base from September 1955 to September 1956. The "Dallas Huts" are gone, but you can still see the imprints where they once stood.
