A beautiful piece of art-deco architecture that is now, unfortunately, a lot less accessible to the public. The building was designed in 1936 and construction was completed in 1941 at a cost of £15 000. The Control Cab which used to sit atop the building was dismantled sometime in the late 1970's. This particular design was also used at Sydney's Kingsford-Smith International Airport and another example is still currently in use at Parafield as the Control Tower and Administration Building.
