Syangboche sits at 12500ft AMSL, in the Himalayas. It was only used to fly in wealthy tourists direct to the Everest View Hotel. It is too high for most people to acclimatize, so the hotel had an oxygen bar for people who don’t want to walk up from Lukla. As you can see the strip is dirt, heavily slopped and there is a shear cliff face at the far end. Unsure of length. Amazing scenery! Sorry for quality (scanned image).

NO problem about the quality as long as we get to see rare landing strips!!! Inceadible location it makes me light headed just looking at it, wonderful picture. ****

Very real. I had to charter a flight into this strip due to my becoming ill on a trek to Everest Base Camp. The plane could not land due to snow for 2 days. The Helo guys said they would take me out for a fourth of the charter but would not give me a receipt for the flight. Kind of under the table deal so the government wouldn't know they were flying passengers.
