Wow! Imagine if the airport is still in use, the Super Jumbo Jet will fly in from the right and perform a 47 degree turn upon the football field to align with the runway then touchdown rwy 13. Photo without watermark and dedicated to all. [Canon 24-105mm IS, Provia 100F]

Was wondering what was going on at Kai Tak. Fond memories flying into this difficult runway. Recalled the checker board and the hard right with the engines spooling up to maintain just enough lift in the bank before lining up for touchdown descent. I assume there is new development across the runway and in and around the flight path. Still cannot believe it to this day it was a very tight flight corridor. The vivid colours captured are the essence of Hong Kong way of life. At first glance on the web, I thought it was a new add on to the FSX. I can definitely say this is very lovely shot, capturing crisp lines of the skyscrapers with dazzling lights of was one of the worlds challenging runways to land.

What mixed emotions this photo brings out. Personally I've never been to this airport. But heard so much about it, seen so much material on it. Also done so many failed and otherwise landings in the simulator. But nothing prepared me for this photo. Truly an amazing photo. Good job Alexander

Unbelievable lighting, it looks like they lit the city up just for this shot! And the perfect line up on the runway, balance and composition are as good as it gets.

I wish you'd posted your equipment, aperature, shutter spd, etc. Everyone dreams of taking a picture like this, and from a moving aircraft at that! Fantastic.

Magnificent photo of one of the World's most beloved airports. It's both beautiful and sad at the same time. It's a shame to see what urban sprawl does to such intriguing places.

What a fabulous shot of good old Kai Tak. For those of us who were fortunate enough to have experienced the thrill of the final approach to runway 13, this should bring back fond memories. Arriving into HKG will never be the same! Andrew, Sydney.

I could still hear the rolling noise of the baggage cart, the flipping sound of the flight display, the engine noise of the jumbos; close my eyes and i could see the yellowish themed terminal, low celling, millions wave good bye and reunion...
i miss tai tak so much.
