LOL, It looks like the living quarters are under snow. I would hate to live there!

What a great capture. It's got a real Cold War feel to it. Just one question though, why would you leave such expensive hardware exposed to the harsh elements? Are the hangers full already?

Rare picture - seldom you see 17 Mig-29 in one picture. The two Fulcrums on the taxiway in top/middle of the picture are probably parked there - no tow trucks, no blast markings in the snow.
Regards from Denmark.

Nice pic, but it hardly looks like they're gonna operate - seeing as they're taxying towards each other...

Absolutely awesome shot!

They don't need shovels. These are MiGs/SUs. They are all-weather and this means they can operate at any weather conditions. Hardly imagine Raptor taking off from such a site...

Incredible shot. Shows the unforgiving environment the Russian Airforce operates in and the bravery of the men who operate out of such airfelds. 5 stars!

Plowing costs money. I think they should spend some cash on new hangars.

This picture shows how rugged is the mig-29 and russian aircraft design in generally.

Who need camouflage with this environment?

A visitor from United States posted Sun July 27, 2008:
Another reason for Mother Russia to increase their defense budget. At least get a few snow plows to get started.
