If Kai Tak ever reopens it's really going to be tough to land at. In all seriousness, this is a great idea for a photo of Kai Tak.

You can still see the Footall Ground . . . and than Imagine the Cathay 742 turning into the Runway only a few feet over Kowloon. I have never seen this and I will never see this ever in my live.

Thank you very much Caron beacause I love to have news of our old Kait Tak airport, and it make a long time that we hadn't photos of it so it's a real pleasure! Many thanks.

Does anybody know that he is going to become?

*sigh*... 5/5, but it's so sad... No more fast 747's shadows over roofs...

So sad to see a glorious airport be destroyed. they could turn it into a GA airfield, but the city probably needs the space.

If Kai Tak was open now, I would pay anything to live in that Building on the left

I'm not too sure about the final masterplan for the former airport... some earlier proposals I saw called for a golf course, but most likely that strip of land will turn into a series of smaller islands and become home to waterfront commercial developments.

And those tall apartment buildings in the runway's path... emerged only after the airport closed and building height restrictions were lifted!

Really a contrast with the old photos...

Looks like development has stalled. From the photo dated April 2007 the building on the left is close to completion, yet 2 years later it still sits vacant. The plan for the site is for a cruise terminal and new residential developments.
