This small, abandoned airfield sits on the northeast corner of Oahu—and it sure has a rich history. It was built in 1917 as the Waimanalo Military Reservation and was renamed as Bellows Field in 1933. This was an important airbase during World War II as an additional set of runways were built, giving the twin airfields a total of five combined runways. Closed in 1958 and renamed to Bellows Air Force Station in 1968, this airfield has since become a popular recreational campsite and weekend getaway, especially with the lovely beaches and scenery Oahu's windward coast has to offer.
