If you ask me, it will be very hard to beat the design of JFK's terminal 5. This terminal was used by TWA for close to 40 years for all international arrivals and departures. Much of the terminal has been destroyed however the unforgettable check-in and curb side area is still in tact and infact is now a historical landmark. Thanks to security for allowing this photo. Awesome. This terminal is a tribute to the optimism of the Jet Age. Hopefully JetBlue does a good job retianing its retro character when they re-do it.

JFK Airport was originally known as Idlewild Airport after the Idlewild Golf Course that it displaced. The airport was originally envisioned as a reliever for LaGuardia Airport, which was already showing signs of insufficient capacity in the late 1930s.
