Here is the airport that almost split Orange County into two. This airport was going to take Southern California into the 22nd Century in addition to bringing relief to LAX from their Pacific Rim Cargo ops. These are the two RWY's that were intended to be used. As PIC, the captain has the final authority on what RWY will be used and since aircraft take-off into the wind, 25L and 25R were going to be the real ones used.

What an incredible loss to see this place go to land development. I'm glad I got to do some R/C on 16R/16L because the R/C area has finally closed there :( Oh well, glad I got to be at the final 1997 airshow, great memories :)

Great picture, too bad this is being destroyed only to be replaced by more houses, the last thing southern California needs.
