Great shot of a classic bird. I'll always remember the sound of one of these flying at an air show in the early 80's.

One of the surviving 17's flew over my house a few times on memorial day 2010. I live near a local airport and they were giving rides on board We were working on my roof so I couldnt miss it. I feel Lucky to have seen it. Thank your dad for the pic and bless his soul for being there at that time fighting for us all. He's part of the greatest generation. From the time this pic was taken, it would be another year before the war ended in Europe.

Thank you for this photo. My grandfather flew in one of these back to Italy after being liberated from a camp by the americans.
