A visitor from United States posted Sun November 4, 2007: Great photo! My dad worked at Rhein-Main at the base headquarters for a year and a half up until a week before the closing ceremony. Our old house in Gateway Gardens on the north side of the airport has already been demolished. It's a shame that such a historic base closed its doors. In ten years most of the base will be gone, I hope Fraport keeps the Luftbrucke monument where it is overlooking the A5.
