The dark clouds hang over Long Island as the sun peaks in from over New York City.. as you can see, its a gorgeous evening here in Queens and the American Terminal soaks up the sweet summer sun while the tower watches overhead..

LGA: The current site of the airport was originally used by the Gala Amusement Park. It was razed and transformed in 1929 into a 105-acre private flying field. The airport was originally named Glenn H Curtiss Airport and later called North Beach Airport.
