Several years ago the Travel Channel did a show on private aircraft, and they had a guy who owned a PC-12 and lived in Texas and flew here with his family often. Wonder if that's him! They flew with him on the way up there and had some fantastic video. As far as erratic golf balls, this is not your weekend hack golf course - people who play here play golf often!

Gorgeous location for an aerodrome, with golf course around, houses with swimming pool, nice vegetation and surroundings.. what can I say... But it may be a tricky to approach I think :) Specially if you are coming from those mountains side. What about takeoffs towards those mountains? And look at that slope, at the right of rwy 14, with some houses and trees... This has very much to be analyzed.

A visitor from United States posted Wed November 8, 2006: Thats by far the best picture I have seen of the Mountain Air fly-in community in Burnsville NC. The fall color really makes it spectacular. The backdrop really gives you the visual impression that far end of the runway is at the edge of a cliff, which it is. That place must be a nightmare to land at in windy or bad weather with the countless hazards around the runway.
