 A visitor from United States posted Sat August 1, 2009:Its sad to see Rhein Main Air Base gone. I was assigned to R/M AB during the Berlin Airlift and it ws the best duty I ever had in my USAF Career. I recommend anyone interested to view the movie The Big Lift (1950 Montgomery Cliff) to see R/M AB in all its glory. RM AB will always have a place in the history of Frankfurt, Germany. | |
| A visitor from United States posted Sun October 12, 2008: I was stationed at Rhein-Main Air Base twice from 1983 - 1985 and 1987 - 1989. Most of it is gone now, judging by the empty land. The ramp is largely intact. Hard to believe most of the base is now gone! | |
