A visitor from Singapore posted Mon January 25, 2010: FYI: except for the first runway on the right, nearly all of changi airport is built on land reclaimed from the sea.the first runway was the original runway of RAF Changi till it became Changi airbase of the republic of singapore airforce when the british left.there is a biggin hill in changi, maybe named by the homesick british.:-)
A visitor from Singapore posted Mon January 25, 2010: Yes i too have always wanted an aerial view of changi and this is an amazing photo.i believe there are plans for a fourth terminal so i am sure there indeed will be 4 runways.all on that green patch of land.that's forward planning :-)i'm sure too that the 3rd runway will be extended.
A visitor from Singapore posted Sun June 29, 2008: I have always wanted an aerial view of changi, and with this one i get to see the 3rd runway, which at the moment is used by the rsaf.but i see the future expansion of the airport in the unfinished exits.maybe there will be 4 runways at changi years down the road.a well planned airport.and the first with the 380's.what an honour.thank u raymond for such a detailed photo.how did you take this photo?kepp them coming.
