Spectacular view of the Venice Lido airport while circling at 1.000ft, waiting to get our clearence to pass the runway extension of the close and more busy Venice Tessera airport. Built in 1909 was used mainly by military bombers during WWI and WWII. It then served as civil airport until the mid '50 when all the traffic moved to the near Tessera airport. The beauty of Venice and its lagoon fits perfectly as background.
