Remark Photographer
N892PA (cn 20029/790) "Clipper Star King", attempted an aborted take-off after striking birds at about V1. The aircraft over ran Runway 34, tore off the nose and left main gears and broke away Number 2 engine (can be seen pointing up at an odd angle). The investigation also revealed that the aircraft was overloaded. There was NO fire or fatalities. In service 03/1969-03/1980.
