Photo of the beautifully situated Aspen Airport taken from Aspen Mountain (AJAX) with Ruthie's lift in the foreground. Normally arrivals and departures are made from/to the north - from/to the far end of the runway. Note the number of Biz Jets parked on the apron. The Gulfstream III that crashed March 29 2001 struck a hill at Cory Point only 500 yards from the runway (far end of the photo) and just to the left of Colorado highway 82.
