A visitor from United States posted Fri June 23, 2006:This photo shows many important detales. NR796W is the same as on the original Miss Veedol. The number 3004 on the tail represents that this was serial number 4 of the CH-300 series Bellancas The Belly and Chin tanks, which Pangborn added on the original to facilitate the first nonstop Trans Pacific flight in 1931, are clearly observed. The Bellanca theory that "everything that sticks out of an airplane should fly" is evident in the airfoils incorporated into the wing struts. About 40 volunteers made it a labor of love to build this replica of the original Miss Veedol and this photo represents her very well. | |
