Aircraft Taken at More: Untitled (McAir Aviation) More: Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP More: In Flight More: USA - Colorado, August 30, 2005 Remark Photographer N2099J This is my trick for helping students learn to look outside the cockpit and fly the plane by developing a feel for it. We are about 4 miles south of Longmont's Vance Brand Airport turning onto the 45 so we can enter the left downwind for runway 29. Too many primary instruction aircraft out there are full glass cockpit, what happens when they fail and you're not playing a video game anymore? I guess that as long as you don't hear the stall horn, you will be fine :)
A visitor from United States posted Fri November 18, 2005: It's good to see that there are still instructors out there that teach private pilot students how to fly by feel and to look out the window. Try doing that in a Level 6 simulator!
