RI-003 This strange monument is situated at Bukittinggi's former airfield, according to my driver. During Indonesia's independence struggle, the real RI-003 (AX505) crashed on its way from Burma to Bukittinggi in December 1947. The crew was killed, including Halim Perdanakusuma, who gave his name to Jakarta's military airport
