PH-BDO / DO-012 (cn 24262/1642) Consolation prize caption: A KLM airliner was escorted into a Duckburg military airfield by fighters today after inadvertently overflying McDuck's Money Bin. Seriously, for those unfamiliar with it, the intrepid duck is a female mallard which should be about 58 cm (23 in) in length

"Royal Duck Airlines" - what an amazing shot!

A visitor from - posted Sun January 25, 2009:
Imagine the engineers 100's of years ago trying to design aircraft seeing this picture. There are some significant similarities with the front of the aircraft and the bird's head. Spectacular shot!

A visitor from Mexico posted Fri July 11, 2008:
This pic made my day! Nice shot! Congrats!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Mon June 30, 2008:
KLM VS Bird?

answer: the bird :-) cause the KLM is slowing down with its brakes/reverse thrusters

A visitor from United States posted Sun June 22, 2008:
Very well done indeed! Excellent timing. 5*s

A visitor from Canada posted Sat June 14, 2008:
Great picture of the duck... Too bad there is an aircraft in the background...

A visitor from Germany posted Wed June 11, 2008:
Love the pic.
BTW.: The duck is more efficent, quieter and nearly free of emission (merely some 'blue ice') - will we ever learn to be so good in flying?

A visitor from United States posted Sat March 22, 2008:
Nice Picture! Indeed for the comment down there about the wake turbulence the duck may cause to the 737

A visitor from United States posted Tue January 15, 2008:
And KLM takes the lead. Love this pic. Very interesting indeed

A visitor from Venezuela posted Sun December 23, 2007:
Looks like a 100 meters-dash photofinish!! if I had seen this bird flying next to the landing a/c I¨d had thought I was on hidden camera or something like it.

A visitor from Spain posted Thu November 29, 2007:
It is strange seeing a duck flying wingtip formation with a civil (or any) aircraft. I thought that either the airfield would be cleared of birds, etc, or they would be scared off by the engine noise, anyway!

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Wed October 17, 2007:
Most lucky photo i ever seen. :D The flying Duckman. ;)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue March 27, 2007:
To get the timing of the picture just right is pretty difficult. Congratulations on being at the right moment at the right place and pressing the button. Congratulations

A visitor from South Africa posted Fri February 2, 2007:

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Mon November 20, 2006:
I am sure the duck is gonna win, the KLM is reversing, and she doesn´t seem to have a lack of power :)

A visitor from Germany posted Thu November 16, 2006:
The one who brakes, loses ;-)

A visitor from Switzerland posted Fri November 10, 2006:
Ah! Timing is everything. This is a photographer's shot, camera always at the ready and lady luck always ready to lend support!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun November 5, 2006:
