A visitor from Spain posted Tue July 10, 2007:I hope that they continue with wingtip fences
A visitor from United States posted Fri April 28, 2006:Nice picture! BUT I think the A320 would look a little bit alike with the Boeing 737!!
A visitor from Philippines posted Sat April 8, 2006:What's next, the A330 gets the original winglets of the A320?
A visitor from Germany posted Sat April 8, 2006:This is NOT the final design of A320-winglets. Airbus says: "The trials, which began on 4th April with a five hour and five minute flight, will investigate two different designs of winglet, one designed by Airbus and the other designed by Winglet Technologies, a U.S. based company." And... "All winglets and wingtip fences work by acting as a barrier between the high-pressure air below the wing and the low-pressure air above it. They reduce the tendency of air to curl up into vortices at the wingtip and, in so doing, reduce drag - and hence fuel-burn - as well as improving aerodynamic efficiency leading to potential improvements in take-off and climb performance." See the complete news at www.airbus.com
A visitor from United States posted Fri April 7, 2006:Great shot, but i must agree, A320 is so much better without the winglets
A visitor from United States posted Thu April 6, 2006:Winglets.... Everyone's doing it.....
A visitor from Germany posted Thu April 6, 2006:Finally they have gone to winglets instead of the tipfences. Is it too much speculation to presume that they did it because the competition does it? Or have they finally found out that fuel performance is acctually better this way and previous statements have proven wrong ?
A visitor from Malaysia posted Thu April 6, 2006:I personally think that aircrafts manufacturers should design their planes very different from the others.. so that people can easily distinguish types of planes they are lookin.. especially SPOTTERS
A visitor from United States posted Thu April 6, 2006:I wonder what jetBlue will like better...the old or the new?? By the way great shot!!
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Very interesting... makes it look like a baby A330 though.
A visitor from Iceland posted Wed April 5, 2006:A very nice capture, Yannick! The A320 looks much nicer with winglets than the 757-200.
A visitor from France posted Wed April 5, 2006:Finally!! I couldn't wait anymore! I actually like them even if some are better to look at. Btw is it 100% sure that these are the final winglets? As long as they help the A320 to stay the best seller, I will love them!
A visitor from Germany posted Wed April 5, 2006:Nice shot. But the WL look very strange on that bus. I prefer the Boeing WL =)
A visitor from Australia posted Wed April 5, 2006:Looks like airbus admitted defeat and turned their A320 in an odd looking B737! i still think it looks good, and it would look better if the wingtip in the photo didn't have a 'fin' behind it, making it look too square. i like it! A visitor from Sweden posted Wed April 5, 2006:Well, Boeing was not the first to use winglets. The russians did it ages before the americans..
A visitor from Switzerland posted Wed April 5, 2006:Is this another april - joke ? they are horrible.. looks like a smaller version of the TU - 204
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:A320s don't look atractive with winglets
A visitor from Portugal posted Wed April 5, 2006:4 stars for the interest of the photo. Now, about the winglets, errmm... it looks weird. I would have to see it in diferent angles. With other engines that not the CFM, I think it would look even worst, so.. I sincerely hope it helps save fuel and enhance performance a lot, cause it sure doesnt look a good aestetics moove. Reminds me of the B757 with winglets. The older and original A320 winglets sure looked better. Let´s see if it´s only a question of "getting used to them". I think these kind of winglets are more suited visually to the widebodys.
A visitor from Jamaica posted Wed April 5, 2006:I like the new winglets... gives it the new touch on the A320. Kinda miss the old winlets thou - it gave the family a distinct look. Ahh well, whats old is old. It look alright still...
A visitor from Philippines posted Wed April 5, 2006:It's really the small bro of the A330 and A340...
A visitor from Brazil posted Wed April 5, 2006:Well, it looks like those combo schemes seen on modified airliners pictures. Nice picture though!
A visitor from Viet Nam posted Wed April 5, 2006:The winglets are not as impressive as 737NGs
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Looks nice the contrast on the photo. About the winglets, I think they took the retro-look very serious, those winglets looks like they were taken from a 727. If they were more curved like the 757 and 737 ones it will look a lot better but for some reason they need to be like that so there no way back...
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Its looks nice, now it looks like at alrger version of ERJ 190. I think they should have just extended the old ones but its still looks great.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Finally A320 has been on the winglet and these are good picture with A320 winglet. Does Airbus will able install more the aircraft on the winglets with the airlines? I'm confused about the picture is perfect for me.
A visitor from Canada posted Wed April 5, 2006:The most up to dated photo, that I have ever seen in this web site.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Great photo! together with the angle. Too bad... I still like the original winglets because it's differnt from the others. (737,E90)
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:I think they should stay with the old winglets......I dont like them!!!
A visitor from Canada posted Wed April 5, 2006:I don't know why airbus decide to change their winglets into the ever more popular type.Honestly,i prefer the original one.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Yeah, I think wing fences look lots better.
A visitor from Australia posted Wed April 5, 2006:Thats Hectic stuff mate!!
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Sorry but I think these new winglets look bad.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:Sorry to spoil the good feelings, but I think they look awful. The winglets on the 737 are so much nicer. I really preferred the original A320 winglet-thingys.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:These now look too close to the Boeing Business Jet. The other ones characterized the A320 in my mind. But good for Airbus if these help performance.
A visitor from Brazil posted Wed April 5, 2006:It reminds me of the Tupolev 204 family now. If they also introduce winglets on the A321, it will hard to make the difference between both!
A visitor from Australia posted Wed April 5, 2006:Nice shot, but I don't think these winglets look very good at all, at least from this angle.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:That is really nice, but its just different!! All those years of looking at the other style of winglets... and now this. Its going to take some time.
A visitor from United States posted Wed April 5, 2006:I think that the original winglets looked so much better. It's a shame that Airbus has now done away with them. They now resemble Boeing's winglets too closely.
A visitor from United States posted Tue April 4, 2006:Looks like Airbus has finnally agreed with what Boeing and Aviation Partners pioneered on the 737! Too bad they're not as blended as the 737's.
A visitor from Brazil posted Tue April 4, 2006:Will these ex-Airbus A320-100 become the first A320-300?
A visitor from India posted Tue April 4, 2006:"What exactly are the winglets and what are they good for???" The winglets are there to reduce the induced drag the wing produces, and as a side effect they slightly improve T/O, climp and cruise performance by increasing the maximum takeoff weight and make the aircraft more fuel effecient (and as a result fly further).
A visitor from Poland posted Tue April 4, 2006:Nice. Pozdrawiam Mati
A visitor from Mexico posted Tue April 4, 2006:It really looks great!! They should have added the house colors to the winglets too. An excellent idea. Hope they do it with the A318, 19 and 21. T.B.
A visitor from Germany posted Tue April 4, 2006:Finally! thanks for the pic...
A visitor from United States posted Tue April 4, 2006:Nice touch!
A visitor from Austria posted Tue April 4, 2006:What exactly are the winglets and what are they good for???
A visitor from Germany posted Tue April 4, 2006:Looks nice! Hope to see more pictures soon!
A visitor from United States posted Tue April 4, 2006:I am really excited to see the A320 finally get winglets!!! They will take some getting use to though.
