A visitor from United States posted Sun July 9, 2006: Strange. I was wondering if the engine pylon could handle the stress of the two fans on it... What about the side to side movement that I saw on an old tv show that showed the B52 engineering process back in the SAC days. It stated some type of shearing stress came up when two engines shared the same pod and so on. Think the fix had to be added into the airframe at production and not able to be added to a frame of a pax jet.
