The sight of the burned sides, all of those ceramic plates. Macine that was a glowing comet just minutes ago is home again.

This shot is incredible....the puff of smoke as the parachute deploys, the front gear still in the air, the roasted tiles...its an awesome pic by an incredible set up.

Welcome home Discovery!

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 9, 2007:
5 Stars because this is exactly as the speed brake parachute is deploying and the moment in time if perfectly frozen...for ever!

Perfect landing shot.

A visitor from United States posted Thu February 8, 2007:
The timing of a shot like this is everything. I have not seen one of these anywhere else. This is a very unique view of the shuttle landing as the general public cannot see this. Great shot!

A visitor from United States posted Wed January 17, 2007:
First of all, space shuttles are badass, so simply seeing one up close is, likewise, badass.

But the real reason this picture gets five stars: look at that smoke coming off the parachute...

A visitor from United States posted Tue January 16, 2007:
Very well done! This photograph does an excellent job of capturing the end of a long.. yet rewarding voyage. Many stories told, but nothing can compare to outstanding photography!!
