B&W in this image is very effective with the clouds and the silouette of the plane; whether this was the choice of the photographer to shot it as a B&W or whether it is a color image with B&W comonents is immaterial.

At that time the Aero Club was operating out of the Perth 'International Airport' - and there was no Tower - so you can appreciate that air traffic was practically non-existent by todays standards. The sign resembled; "Beware of jet vortex. It is deadly (resembling Dry Thunder-storm Wind Sheer) and invisible. Keep 5 miles clear. Have a safe flight.
