A visitor from - posted Mon July 6, 2009:Wow... 3 hours before landing over the Atlantic?? That's a ticking decompression bomb!
A visitor from Portugal posted Mon February 23, 2009:3 hours looking at those cracks waiting for the best...
A visitor from Switzerland posted Mon February 9, 2009:Wow! totally amazing, and dangerous!!!
A visitor from United States posted Thu January 1, 2009:This picture is perfect for so many reasons. The cracks are somewhat symetrical yet geometrical. They are in crystal clear focus. The rain water on the other hand, is in softer focus and streamlined with the airflow over the precarious windshield. Including the three autopilot lights which show that the pilots are taking no chances and using the autoland feature. Then there are the colorful runway approach lights highlighting all of the mentioned effects. Then there is the general realization of how dangerous the whole situation is, Any landing, this one with a cracked windshield, in the rain with crosswinds, windshield could further shatter if a hard landing, slick runway. It's all quite amazing. This one is going to be tough to beat for a long time. It's a classic. It's a keeper. It's a hall of famer. Quintessential Airliners dot net.

A visitor from United States posted Sat July 19, 2008:Very Nice, And yes, by looking at the 3 lit CMD (Command/or autopilot) switches which would signify triple redundancy where as in normal A/P operation, only one is lit.
A visitor from Mauritius posted Mon July 7, 2008:It's autoland (autopilot landing)

A visitor from Singapore posted Fri November 23, 2007:That's where the auto-land feature comes in.
A visitor from Canada posted Tue August 28, 2007:I'm assuming the crew declared an emergency before you landed? I wouldn't want to be flying with a window like that for any longer than I had to.
A visitor from United States posted Mon July 2, 2007:I'm assuming that it goes in the "Bad to worse" column if that thing actually blows in, right?
A visitor from Finland posted Sun May 13, 2007:Incredible but scary! This was not a visual approach for sure :D
A visitor from Australia posted Sun May 13, 2007:Great photo. If you were the co-pilot, how did you feel out over the Atlantic with the shattered windshield? Looks pretty serious to me! I didn't know that Belair flew to Jamaica!

A visitor from Germany posted Sun May 13, 2007:Wow! great picture.... that must have been quite scary
A visitor from Austria posted Sun May 13, 2007:To the NZ visitor: I guess no problem, even if the Captain´s window broke too, since they´re doing an Autoland (Notice all 3 AP Lights are illuminated)
A visitor from New Zealand posted Sun May 13, 2007:This picture to me is quiet amazing, the lighting from the runway is very good! Imagine if the pilots window did the same, and landing like you're photo shows!
A visitor from Germany posted Sun May 13, 2007:Great photo ! thanks for sharing this unique scene from the cockpit !
