N***** Caribbean Atlantic Airlines or Caribair. In order to certify the CV-340 for flight operation for St Thomas Airport, Caribair obtained the approval of the FAA by using Solid Rocket Boosters (JATO's) for use in the event of an engine failure. The boosters (JATO"s) were good for certain amount of flights. Once these flight (or cycles) were completed, the JATO were fired for crew training, without any paying passanger
