A visitor from - posted Sat July 25, 2009:Wow...sad to see that Adam Air there...poor maintanance and pilot training in the past caused several accidents and total bankrupcy of the airline.
A visitor from United States posted Thu July 16, 2009:The two 744s from CPA are the planes that dont belong in this picture. they put so much money and effort converting them to freighters, and now they sit in the desert rotting. what a pity. can i get an amen on this? ):
A visitor from United States posted Sat July 4, 2009:That is so sad...the Midwest planes were family to us, we worked them flew on them and loved them. There were only 25 717 aircraft in the fleet. I think that is N922ME and N910ME(or 918). RIP Midwest.
A visitor from United States posted Thu July 2, 2009:To correct a previous comment posted by another viewer. There are two Airbusses in this pic, an American A300 and on the left side theres an A320 but I don't know what airline's colors its painted in.
A visitor from - posted Thu July 2, 2009:Sol America without engines on bottom right.
A visitor from United States posted Thu July 2, 2009:Why so many 747-400's. are they all going to scraped
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 2, 2009:An excellent illustration of the various tolls of the 'Economic Crisis' - hopefully we'll see most back in service soon...
A visitor from - posted Thu July 2, 2009:There is no Airbus but a lot of Boeing like 737s (classic version) 747, 757 , 767 and MD80 !!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 2, 2009:Nice lighting and composition sam. They will all fly again.
A visitor from - posted Thu July 2, 2009:Wow! That's a lot of airplanes. They go well together. Notice the different sizes.
A visitor from Norway posted Thu July 2, 2009:Ah, i'll have that Delta 757. How much is it?
A visitor from Netherlands posted Thu July 2, 2009:I think these airplanes are stored here until they need them again. This is mutch cheaper then store them on an airport. Most airplanes are there now due to the crisis. When they need them again they just pic it out en takeoff :)
A visitor from Germany posted Thu July 2, 2009:Why did United give the new colors to those 737s and even the 744, when they retire anyways?
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 2, 2009:They should stop making new planes and take the old ones out the desert! Note the UA 737 has the old nose cone!
A visitor from - posted Thu July 2, 2009:I hope most of these are only in storgae! R.I.P. Oasis Hong Kong (top right corner)! ;(
A visitor from - posted Thu July 2, 2009:What airline is the 747 in the top left corner? great picture by the way
A visitor from Singapore posted Thu July 2, 2009:Really hope to see some of these planes fly again!
A visitor from Singapore posted Thu July 2, 2009:Wow those 744s still look in pretty mint condition! they certainly dont deserve to be in the scrapyards. and the 742 at the top left corner, just behind cathay cargo 744 and delta 767 is Singapore's forgotten cargo airline, jett8 airlines cargo!
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Thats one great photo. But are you sure these A/C are being grounded? I'm seeing CX Cargo 744s, 767s, and United 737s in new livery.
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:Is tha the Cathay Pacific First Boeing Converted Frighter sitting in the desert? How sad! It is such a beautiful and, perhaps a bit historical aircraft!
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:1 will take one of the 767, refurbish it and sell it on ebay.
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:I can't believe they would put all those good looking United planes out there.
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Ahh so sad, these planes really need to fly....
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:I miss the MD-80's. Now only American regularly flies the Super 80 into SEA. And now that AA is retiring them too...
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Who would dare to buy that Adam Air B737?
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:I'll take a UA 747, a UA 737, no, make that 2 UA 737s and a Delta 767 on the side, please.
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Very very sad view. I hope that this airplanes can have a different end.
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:I'd take one of the Midwest, very sad to see those 2 717's that are 6-8 years old sitting there, hopefully an owner is found for them. I know midwest got bought by Republic, but in my opinion Midwest is dead. RIP Midwest, you were such a great airline...
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Are those planes retiring or just stored? Im surprise that there are UA 737s in new livery and Delta 764 in VCV. :(
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:One of the better desert shots i've seen. very dense packing; colorful with the liveries still on there.
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:Another exquisite photo by Sam! If these aircraft could talk...think about the stories they could tell of where they've been...
A visitor from - posted Wed July 1, 2009:Wonderful capture. I wish I could still see those AS MD-80's in Seattle.
