A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon August 24, 2009: Excellent photo of an aircraft about to start an ambitious new project. It is NOT an Elite. It does not have extra fuel tanks over and above the normal wing tanks, but it can still make JFK-SNN non-stop. Cannot make LCY-JFK direct as it would be too heavy taking off from LCY. It has CFM56 engines as the IAE used on most of the BA aircraft is not an option on the A318. This is aimed at the business customer. Just 32 Club Plus seats, with internet access available. I think it will be very popular, and it is far bigger than most business jets that fly across the Atlantic. Landing at LCY should be interesting though. Largest aircraft certified to land there with its steep approach and short, narrow runway. Good luck to all involved.

A visitor from United States posted Thu August 20, 2009: The flight will stop in Shannon, Ireland to clear US Immigration so that the passengers don't have to when they arrive at JFK Airport. The plane will also be refueled at SNN. Anyways, I think this photo is great!

Only fwd hold,wich means that aft hold space can be used for fuel,and in all business configuration,the payload won't be very heavy... Can't tell about the red lined windows,but the emergency exit calls my attention,why is not highlighted? Ah,and CFM56 engines,not the usual BA configuration...

A visitor from - posted Thu August 20, 2009: The a318 can travel farther because it has teh same size wing as a320 but is much more efficient with due to light weight. i would hate to be stuck on such a teeny weeny plane for such a long trip. even with all first class. making 1 trip with a 747 has to be more efficient than 20 on the a318 to get the same amount of passengers across.
