Remark Photographer
Rare Aerial View (looking South-West) of RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland, taken from a 5 Squadron UH-1 in Sept 1969, during an early morning departure for Exercise ‘Fix Fast’ at Mt Byron. [No 5 Airfield Construction Squadron (5ACS) was extending the main runway then – at lower right]. Most hangars visible are WWII vintage, except for 482 Squadron's new Hangar (The ‘Taj Mahal’!). Low res scanned (grainy) Agfa CT21 35mm slide.
