It used to be the long-distance railway station only, but in the last years they've build the huge building on top of that (that is what you actually see in the shot, they call it "The Squaire" - no typo:-)). It encompasses offices, conference centers and hotels. A great masterpiece of architecture, when you drive on the adjacent A3 highway, it looks like a stranded modernized version of Queen Mary II!
The curved building is the new Hotel/Conference Center above the trainstation and indeed it looks like a cruise liner especially when you pass it via the highway
Nice overview of chaotic FRA.The 'cruise-liner' building is actually on top of the longdistance railway and is called "The Squaire".Offices,Hotels and Shopping
The curved building is the squire which will contain 2 hotels, shops and offices. It also ha sthe train station in it. Good pic btw:)
That building in the back is the railwaystation with a hotel on top of it. It is fairly new, I think it opened last year.
The long curved building in the back is called ,,the squaire'' or just arrail-center! the structure ist about 660 metres long and includes a large train station (domestic and long diastance trains), hotels, a shopping center and a large number of offices. it looks quite impressive, especially when you entering the airport area by car on the autobahn!
The long building has the stupid name "The Squaire" and is an office building (660 meters long, 9 floors). It has been built on top of the long distance railway station.
The curved building is the railway station ... great picture
What's that massive long building in the back with the curved ends? Surely it's not just the railway station... it looks like a cruise-liner!
This picture captures the chaotic looking Frankfurt airport perfectly. I have always thought that FRA looks quite dull on the outside. But that's not something the photographer could do something about!
