A visitor from Sweden posted Sun March 19, 2006:The best of this is when you aproach on TNCM the Airport doesn´t have ILS!! but you can make a VOR aproach so you have to be careful by no fly too low.

A visitor from - posted Mon December 12, 2005:This photo helps one understand what the travel books mean when they say "some airport noise". We've been to St. Maarten and I remember reading that comment about some of the hotels/condos prior to leaving. What a fabulous picture taken in a fabulous little island.
A visitor from United States posted Fri December 9, 2005:A few feet/meters lower and it's a water landing.
A visitor from New Zealand posted Wed December 7, 2005:Simply magnificent...This gotta be the aviation enthusiasts FAVORITE beach.
A visitor from United States posted Mon December 5, 2005:I always thought this was fake until, that is, I went to St. Martin. Flying in over that beach is a really weird experience. You almost feel as if you can reach down and touch the people(that particular beach, btw, is probably the worst beach on St. Martin...it's tiny and, well, next to an airport!). Incidentally, the photo is probably taken from a outdoors bar that is quite popular during the day and early evening. I never saw a 747 land, but I saw one take off. But what's really freaky is that at the end of the runaway there stands this seemingly enormous mountain! Every plane, as soon as it lifts off, makes a sharp bank right to avoid hitting this mountain. Trust me, many Gin and Tonics were required before I got on the departing flight!!
A visitor from United States posted Sun November 27, 2005:Capturing the whole plane in the shot while panning perfectly and not having any blur makes this an awesome photo. You also get a good sense of scale with the people in the foreground and the buildings in the back.
A visitor from Bulgaria posted Sat November 26, 2005:Best ever!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat November 26, 2005:In this picture you can almost hear the screams from the plane.
A visitor from United States posted Sat November 26, 2005:You can literally "reach out and touch it." I cannot imagine being that close to such a mammoth flagship. I am in awe of this picture. I have to get to that beach. Bring on the wine!

A visitor from - posted Fri November 18, 2005:This is a fasinating photo.
A visitor from United States posted Thu November 10, 2005:You know, I HAVE to go there sometime just for the airplanes! I'm not a beach freak, but when you can be a few feet away from a 747 and not either be going in or out of it for another one of your "sit there for a few hours and be bored because you're not the pilot" yipeehahawhee flights; or about to be escorted disgracefully from the airliner ramp because you were out with the big guys when you weren't supposed to, it's REALLY worth it! Hahaha! :) P.S., congratulations if you could follow me on that one!
A visitor from United States posted Thu November 10, 2005:Can you believe how close to the beach this aircraft comes. Awesome!! So is St. Marteen

Only that, photographing of the aircraft is prohibited, can somebody tell me why do they prohibit such act???

A visitor from United States posted Thu September 8, 2005:The feature that appeals to me is the (1) one of a time photo of an airliner (no doubt the pilot(s) flying skills) of just clearing obsticles and the closness of the people to the actual landing of the aircraft.

He told me that not only was it an authentic photo, but an amazing thing to see in person as well. I think as a vacationer it would be awesome for about an hour or two, but after that point it wouldn't exactly be a relaxing tropical vacation!
