Historic shot on the saddest way
One little consolation to this disaster.... at least four survived from this crash. A rarity considering the circumstances. If only the repairs were done properly.... Thanks for sharing this!
For those who were wondering, this Japan Air Lines 747SR-46 is the actual plane that crashed on mount Osutaka.
This plane had catastropic minutes after leaving tokyo. The rearpressure bulkhead broke away while cruising at 23000 feet. The force of rushing air blown almost entire tail and caused total hydraulic failure and crashed in mount osutaka gunma. 520 people onboard killed. It still remains as the deadliest single air disaster in the world
Wow, this is chilling. Plus, the pale colors make it a little more sad and dramatic (which it is)
Great clear shot. Well cropped, too. Lighting and contrast is perfect.
It really chills me that you can actually see where the tail had been repaired incorrectly in this photo. Very dramatic, very good picture.
I enjoy this photo as it shows great detail of the actual plane
Great shot! it was the greatest disaster in history as japan airlines flight 123 crashes at mt. osutaka. causing 520 people died.
A photo of a plane gone down.
Hi ! on you had a toy ? and you lost part?. and you tall? ok! OK OK ok OKAY! OKAY! you were on tv? wow! here lies JAL 123 RIP.
Full view of aircraft, tail number visible, good contrast between white aircraft and gray background.
Hello from Australia. I just watched an airline documentary on this disaster. Such a tragedy, brings a tear to your eye. Though there was no chance of landing, the pilots did an amazing job to keep the aircraft in the air for so long.. and amazing that 4 people survived. There may have been more survivors if the US marines were allowed to land, or if the rescue efforts were quicker. It's terrible - RiP.
Oh my. Is this the actual plane?
Over 500 souls where lost on this machine... RIP
